A fund that promotes the enhancement of community and staff knowledge related to current palliative care practice and services
About the fund
The South Shore Hospice Palliative Care Society was formed to meet palliative care needs in Lunenburg and Queens Counties.
Palliative care is an interdisciplinary approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness. It focuses on providing relief from the symptoms, pain, physical stress, and mental stress at any stage of illness.
With its mission to promote compassionate, accessible, end of life care, through partnerships, education, advocacy, and the provision of resources, the Society works cooperatively within the community to enhance the provision of care and service.
