Lt(N) Andrew Franklyn Webster Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship in dedication to Andrew’s life

About the fund

The Lt(N) Andrew Webster Scholarship was established in 2014 to honour the late naval officer who passed away while serving in HMCS Toronto. Andrew was a graduate of Dartmouth High School and Royal Military College and always spoke fondly of his time at Dartmouth High. The intent of the scholarship is to grant an annual scholarship of $2000 to a graduate of Dartmouth High who embodies Andrew’s qualities as an all-around student who enjoyed academics, sports, and friends. The scholarship is intended to be awarded to a student selected by the Dartmouth High scholarship committee who will attend a post-secondary university or technical college that is accredited by the Canadian government.

Scholarship eligibility criteria

a. Academic Achievement: 25%. The student selected will demonstrate a level of academic achievement required to be selected for his post-secondary course of studies.

b. Extracurricular Activities: 25%. The student selected will be an active participant in school sports, clubs and student council, and volunteer activities.

c. Financial Need: 25%. The student selected must demonstrate to the scholarship committee a requirement for financial support to attend post-secondary education.

d. Support of Fellow Students: 25%. The student selected must be friendly, compassionate, and caring to his/her fellow students.
