Donna brings 25 years of Canadian and international leadership experience in business and not-for-profit management. Her career in energy working in cross-cultural international settings, with urban and rural communities helps her to see possibilities beyond the usual barriers. She has volunteered with a range of organizations including Patient Advisors Network, Amistad Canada, Nova Scotia Health Authority, Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Way, Futurpreneur, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, and Friends of Banff. Over the years Donna has had the role of both funder and applicant in the sector. She is currently chair of Lake City Works, a Nova Scotia leader and innovator in supporting people living with mental illness to build on their strengths, take on responsibilities, and access work experience, education, and employment. Donna is known for her contagious enthusiasm and ‘can do mindset’; operationalizing bold ideas by connecting purpose, passion, and people across diverse groups with strategic focus – all of which Nova Scotia has tons of. She is excited to be part of the Board team and connect with community groups across the province, supporting efforts to create a positive societal impact.
